Itinerary at a glance:

Day 1 - Arrival in Montenegro
Day 2 - Perast & Kotor
Day 3 - Day at Leisure
Day 4 - Depart Montenegro

Day 1 | Montenegro Arrival

Arrival into Montenegro, where you will meet your driver for your transfer to your hotel. Upon checking in, you may spend the remainder of your day at leisure.

Montenegro used to be a part of the former Yugoslavia but has been an independent country since the referendum in 2006. The country’s name, meaning “Black Mountain,” probably dates back to the era of Venetian hegemony over the Adriatic coast in the middle ages.

Day 2 | Perast & Kotor

This morning, your guide and driver will meet you in the hotel lobby for your tour of Perast and Kotor.

Your first stop along your journey will be in the port town of Perast, where you will visit the island “Lady of the Rocks”. Perast represents the best-preserved entity of this part of the Adriatic. Due to the development of maritime and trade in the 17th and 18th centuries, the town grew with many new palaces and churches.

The Lady of the Rock lies about 125 yards northeast of the island of St. George. The stone plateau in the middle of the sea with a church on it is a result of the enduring efforts of generations of mariners to leave there, in the very heart of the Bay of Boka Kotorska, a testimony of their Christian faith and culture. The island was built artificially by scuttling old ships and depositing stones around a small crag. The name of the island derived from the word “skrpjel” an old word for a crag. The sanctuary was dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin because this cult (Assunzione della Vergine) was greatly venerated by the Venetians.

Later, continue your journey to Kotor. Located at the head of a deep fjord, Kotor’s fortified Old Town was strategically built at the foot of a high cliff and is today protected by UNESCO. The fortified Old Town bears similarities with the one in Dubrovnik but is smaller and more idyllic in some ways. The best way to explore this very compact part of town is to simply allow yourself to get lost in the maze of narrow streets and small squares and to wander around admiring the historic buildings.

Exclusive experience: today you will meet the Moric family, locally famous for their olive oil production. This olive grove is family owned and operated in an area renowned for the quality and complexity of its extraordinary artisan olive oils produced with purity, flavor and character. Today you will be invited to savor the goodness of their Estate grown artisan oils. All of the olives are organically and sustainable farmed and hand harvested. You will also have the opportunity to get to know the Moric family, witness how they produce their domestic olive oil and enjoy a homemade meal of Montenegrin specialties.

Day 3 | Day at Leisure

Today you may spend your day at leisure.

Day 4 | Depart Montenegro

Today you will meet your driver for your transfer to the airport to board your departing flight onward.
